Sacred Activism

Our approach to activism is rooted in the tradition of Sacred Activism, which Andrew Harvey describes as:

"Sacred Activism is the fusion of the mystic’s passion for God with the activist’s passion for justice, creating a third fire, which is the burning sacred heart that longs to help, preserve, and nurture every living thing."

"Sacred Activism marries on every level the noblest passion of the mystic (union with the Divine) with the noblest passion of the activist (justice) to birth a third force that can transform seemingly hopeless and intractable situations."

Andrew Harvey, Radical Passion: Sacred Love and Wisdom in Action (2012), p. 490

What is Sacred Activism

Sacred Activism is the School’s living expression of Conscious Politics in action — the action itself, the practice. It is what politics becomes when it is carried into the world — into the ways we lead, govern, organize, relate, and build peace. This practice holds inner life and public action together.

Inspired by Andrew Harvey’s understanding of Sacred Activism, we understand transformative sociopolitical action as an invitation to bring our deepest values into public life in service of social healing, collective flourishing, and the wellbeing of life on Earth.

Through this platform, we share initiatives, projects, and programs that seek to contribute to the healing and transformation of communities, institutions, cultures and territories. We offer them as invitations rather than as finished models.

Each project is led by or co-led with learners and practitioners of Conscious Politics — offering lived examples, and tangible impact, of what it means to express one’s political being through conscious action, with joy.

Active Projects

The School currently supports ten Sacred Activism projects. Nine of the ten are Active 2026–2027; The Belonging Project is Pilot 2026–2027. Each opens the project’s own page: description, context, theory of change, resources, milestones, team profile and contribution to Conscious Politics.
